Previous to starting her own consulting group, Marlys Hanson managed recruiting and selection functions at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.  Her job-fit solutions for recruiting scientists and engineers served to dramatically increase hiring and retention during competitive labor markets. Her interventions, designed to optimize both employee performance and satisfaction, are based on the concept of matching strengths with work requirements.  Her talent management products are unique in the field of job-fit and leadership development. Several of her clients received national awards for Best Practices in their talent management systems. Marlys has received several national awards for her leadership in the career development profession.

 

After nearly twenty years of leadership in the Society, she served as National President of the American Society for Training and Development (membership 75,000).  She is the author of many journal articles on the subject of talent management. Her book, PASSION AND PURPOSE, co-authored with her husband Merle Hanson, Ph.D, shows readers how to identify and leverage the powerful patterns that shape their work and life.  Marlys has presented hundreds of talent management workshops for both domestic and international clients and has keynoted many conferences. Marlys has a M.S. in Counseling Psychology with Distinction and a B. S. in Business Administration, awarded Summa Cum Laude.
